Alec tried to kiss the back of Paige’s neck as she was applying her makeup.

Still expressing annoyance with her “faithful” husband, she moved away from him and complained, “I don’t know what I’m angrier at. You not only interfered in my conversation with Dawn Gilman, you also flirt shamelessly with her. If that wasn’t enough, you asked Dawn to go to tonight’s Starlight Movie with you!”

Trying to cajole Paige, Alec protested, “You’re going with Lonnie Neeson. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

As a dark red streak spread across her cheek, she cried out, “I wouldn’t have had to ask him if you hadn’t played up to Dawn first.”

“Are you jealous?” Alec asked in a quieter tone. “I only invited Dawn out to make sure she’s not hiding anything else. You’re the one who gave me reason to go on after losing Shanna and Emma. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”

Somewhat placated, Paige turned to Alec. “You’d better behave tonight. No holding hands and absolutely no kissing! I don’t want Dawn to think you’re really available.”

Alec agreed, “The same goes for you. Neeson is now a man on the rebound.”

With an uneasy truce reached, the DunBartons separated in the corridor: Paige to meet Lonnie on the Lido Deck and Alec to pick up Dawn from her cabin.
